Morti Viventear grew up along the fjordside reading horror fiction and watching violent flicks to kill his boredom. When he discovered hiphop in junior high, he didn’t really care about Clark Ashton Smith or HP Lovecraft’s monster stories anymore. Now in his 30’s, he’s going through this questioning phase, wondering where these authors would have led him over time. This is what Lovecraftsmanship is all about: merging the past with the present. In a dark, Lovecraftian setting, Morti's sophomore LP is an attempt to bring his past alive through modern beatmaking techniques, using his trusty MPC, dusty records and rusty synths.
